2019 business resolutions

Making the jump from 2018 to 2019 as a business owner.

Happy New Year!

You’re surely very proud of your business – you’ve put hard work, lots (and lots) of time, blood, sweat, and perhaps some tears into making sure your business succeeds. That all being said, there’s always room for improvement, right?

When was the last time that you made a New Year’s Resolution? Maybe you resolved to lose weight, or read more in the new year, but have you made a resolution for your business? Here are three New Year’s Resolutions your business should make to improve your results in 2019 and beyond!

#1: Post at least 1 new video weekly.

Your customers not only want to know about you, they want to know what’s new with you. A new video every week not only informs your clientele, it sets expectations that they need to keep up with. You’re the subject matter expert in your business, so show that off! Interview your favorite vendors, fellow staff, or get customer testimonials. There is so much content for any business, you should never run out of ideas. At the same time, make sure to stay consistent on social media – whichever combination of platforms you use, make sure to keep them updated. Any customer who’s looking at your social media will want to see new posts and content. They may receive a negative impression if they see a ‘neglected’ website or social media platform.

#2: Upgrade your equipment.

Technology improves and updates quickly, and they make your life easier and your outcome better. You don’t have to break the bank either. Here are a couple of inexpensive options that will have a major impact: a steady camera gimbal to hold your phone on if you’re walking around, or moving at all, will make a huge difference in the steadiness and overall look and feel of any videos. A new microphone will help your videos sound more crisp and professional. A microphone will upgrade your D.I.Y. videos a lot! Take a look at our equipment page for our favorite equipment recommendations for start up and professional equipment offered on Amazon at a great price.

#3: Don’t be so hard on yourself.

So many people refrain from doing videos themselves because they don’t like how they look, or sound. Let us assure you: You’re perfectly you! This year make the resolution to be proud of it! Your customers and clientele want to see the real you. Do a few takes if you need to, however if the content is good, don’t worry about your hair or outfit. Post it and be present online. Your customers will appreciate seeing the latest news and more about your business wherever they look online.

In closing…
